NEWSLETTER #1 - JULY 2015
Hi there

We're delighted to bring you the first Mulholland newsletter with news and information.

Mulholland Reboot
So, the big change over the last month or so has been the move from being a five-piece to a duo. John, Andy & Vic are now concentrating on the rockier side of things with KanØwurmz whilst Stan & Ann are following the alt-country/rootsy path. We're looking at playing more gigs outside York from now on so keep an eye out for us at a bar/pub/club near you and get in touch if you know of anywhere or anyone that would like us to play. Current gigs are on the website Tour page

New Website/Pics
You may have seen the new look website at www.mulhollandband.com, still a 'work in progress' for a while as we look at rejigging things. We're really excited about working with the brilliant Ami Barwell on some new pics. Ami has photographed some of Rock's greatest (e.g. Lemmy, Iggy, Johnny Marr, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club). The photo shoot is lined up for the 16th August and will be at the rather fantastic North Star Club where we'll be aided and abetted by the very talented Faye Robertson, makeup artist.

New Album
Following on from the great response we received to the first album Ghosts & Shadows we've been writing some new songs with the aim to release a new one early next year. Recording starts on the 1st September and we're excited to be working with York producer/musician Vinnie Whitehead.

Radio Radio
We were really thrilled that the last album has had a good number of plays on various radio shows, most notably the Troubadour Show and BBC York Introducing which played Come On Back and Love Actually and we're scheduled to play a live session on the Fox's Den show on Vixen 101 on 25th September. Also on the radio front, Stan has a new radio show starting in August on 2 Rivers Radio, a new York-based community radio station. The show is called York New York and will feature the best of York's singer/songwriters alongside the greats who haunted the clubs and bars of Greenwich Village NYC in the 60/70s. It will be available via the 2 Rivers Radio website with new shows going out on Thursdays 8.00pm (UK time) and repeated throughout the week. Vinnie also has a show on the station (Vinnie Whitehead's In Your House) and we are guests on the show (#1 or #2 we think) where we'll be chatting to Vinnie and singing a few songs.

Video
If you haven't already, checkout the video for Come On Back. We filmed it earlier in the year at (the very cool bar) Sotano in York working with director James Arden from the Trash Factory. James did a fabulous job and we really love the video and hope you do too.

Date for the Diary
On Thursday 12th November it will be Neil Young's 70th Birthday and to celebrate the great man we're organising a benefit in aid of Accessible Arts & Media at the Basement, York. AAM are a fantastic York-based charity that run vibrant and inclusive creative arts and media projects in the city. There'll be an amazing lineup on the day of York's finest singing their favourite Neil songs - Chris Helme, David Ward Maclean, Boss Caine, Sam Griffiths, Ian Ravenscroft, The Blueprints and Mulholland. So put the date in your diary and come along on the 12th November. Tickets will be £8 and available via the Basement closer to the time. We're aiming for all of the ticket money to go to AAM so please get in touch if you'd like to cover some of the costs for the day (all of the musicians will be playing for free).

Think that's everything for the moment. We'll try to get a newsletter out every couple of months and if you know of anyone who might be interested then please feel free to forward this to them. You can follow/contact us on Facebook, Twitter and at mulhollandband@hotmail.com as well as the band website www.mulhollandband.com

Take care and see you soon

Stan & Ann
