Best Laid Plans
It looked like we were about to get out there again to do our thing but the flu virus that just keeps giving just kept giving. So we had to cancel/postpone several gigs we had lined up which was a pity but c'est la vie. This week looks more promising with a relatively gentle start before a busy weekend.
We did manage to get out on Saturday to Carrie Martin's residency in Hull at the cool cafe bar Solo's. Nice place, nice crowd.
Making Plans
One benefit of being laid up is it gives more time for making plans and that's what we have been doing. Highlights are
- Germany: a mini break to Hamburg in August. We were looking at playing some dates but decided in the end just to go for a bit of a holiday and maybe checkout an open mic or two
- Scotland: again, we were originally looking at a string of dates but now it'll be a long weekend in September with a session at Lionheart Radio on the Friday and a gig in Edinburgh (Bluebird Cafe) on the Saturday, our wedding anniversary.
- A US Road Trip! We're busy laying out the details for a month's jaunt over to the States next May/June. Current plan is to fly to Atlanta then pickup a car and off we go. First stop being Nashville (natch)

MONDAY - Playing some songs at the Castle Museum York in support of SASH
THURSDAY - Over to Haworth for the Acoustic Session at the Black Bull
FRIDAY - Our monthly residency at the Orange Grove Knaresborough with guest Steve Chapman Smith
SATURDAY - off to see Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid in a watermill, as you do
SUNDAY - a night of brill music in the Crescent, York including the magnificent The Lungs
